Recommendations for Getting a Tow Bar Base Plate Installed
Question:
Hello I am looking at purchasing a car that can be flat towed but I do not know where I can go to get the tow bar installed. Do you have any suggestions of how to find a place?

A local RV dealer could handle a base plate install, but a full-service mechanic would also be able to handle your installation with no problem. If you have somebody you trust that you regularly use, that's what I'd recommend. If you are close to our location in Wentzville, Missouri we could even handle the installation for you.
To flat tow the vehicle, you'll need a tow bar like the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, part # RM-522, base plates on the vehicle to provide an attachment point for the tow bar, a wiring harness so the taillights on the towed vehicle operate in conjunction with those on the motorhome, a supplemental braking system and possibly a high/low adapter if the installed height difference between the base plates and receiver hitch on the motorhome is greater than 3 inches. Once you decide on and purchase a specific vehicle, I'd be happy to make some recommendations if you wish.
I've linked to several help articles about flat towing, including an article that runs down a list of the more popular vehicle options.
