So there are only a couple ways to definitively know what replacement hub you need, and this is based on a bit of necessary information.

First, you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has, as spindle size is an indicator but doesn't have the required info. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

For example, if you had a spindle that measured 1.000" where the bearings ride you would have inner and outer bearings # L44643 and would need Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-1K if your wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern or # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K if they have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern.

If you aren't sure what your bolt pattern is I have added a help article which details how you can find it, as well as a printable bolt hole template you can use. I have also added links to our selection of hubs and video reviews for you to take a look at.
