Does The Door Trim Have to Be Removed To Install SolidStep Lift Assist Kit RV Doors LC733939

Question:

Is it an absolute that the inside door trim need be removed for the mounting bracket to install properly. Where is the clearance issue I am unclear what interference is referenced. I have a 2018 Jayco 5th wheel, model 25rlts. Any photos to help explain will be appreciated. Also, I cannot tell from the drawings in the instructions exactly where the 1/2inch clearance is measured.?

The mounting bracket of the SolidStep Lift Assist Kit for 30" to 36" RV Doors part # LC733939 basically installs 1/4" away from the door jamb on the interior wall. It does need to be flush with the door jamb so if there is a piece of door trim keeping the bracket from being level with the door jamb then it needs to be removed. The 1/4" measurement is from the installation instructions for the lift assist kit itself which I have sent you in a separate email. The 1/4” gap will allow the rotating cover component to open and close without binding. If you take a look at the diagram I have attached, "B" is showing the 1/4" space between the bracket and the door frame. If there is a trim there it will need to be removed.
