What is the Difference Between the StowMaster Tow Bar and the StowMaster All Terrain Tow Bar
Question:
Is the difference between the standard Stowmaster and the all terrain stowmaster a big difference ? Been using a Falcon 11 for years, thought the stowmaster might be easier to unhook. Mostly on road travel. Tow veh. 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Thanks!!

The main difference between the standard, # RM-501, and all terrain, # RM-502, StowMaster tow bars are the non-binding arms of the all terrain StowMaster and the Autowlock system of the standard StowMaster.
When you are parked on uneven terrain or at a hard angle the arms of the tow bar can bind making it difficult to disconnect the tow bar from your tow vehicle. The Freedom Latch on the all terrain tow bar releases the tension on the arms of the tow bar making it easier to disconnect from your vehicle.
The standard StowMaster has an Autowlock system that automatically centers and locks the arms in place when you take off. If you do not plan on parking on uneven terrain or at hard angles when you want to disconnect your vehicle, then you should be fine using the standard StowMaster tow bar.
One more thing to keep in mind with either StowMaster tow bar is that they do not work with Roadmaster MX series base plates. If you have the XL base plates on your 2012 Jeep Wrangler, then you will have no problem using either tow bar.
I have attached the installation instructions for both tow bars for you to check out.
