Best Way to Protect Trailer From Rock Damage When Towing With Motorhome

Question:

What is the best screen setup for towing my trailer behind my motorhome? Ive noticed pock mark chips in the finish of the back of my motorhome. i haul my car and motorcycle on the trailer. Do i need to put a rock guard on the bumper along with the screen from the motorhome to the trailer? I l drive on dirt to get to my house.

There are screens for flat towing set ups that attach to a tow bar, but for traditional towing on a trailer the best option are mud flaps/rock guards, the Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty, Adjustable Mud Flap System for 2" Hitches # ERT00108.

These are large guards that measure 24-1/4" long x 23-7/8" wide x 3/8" thick each, and the width can be adjusted to measure anywhere between 67-1/4" to 96-3/4" from outside to outside. If your exhaust is anywhere close, you can also add the Heat Shield for Rock Tamers Mud Flaps # RT76FR.

In regards to fit, the only other thing to keep in mind is that there must be at least 1" of clearance between the back of the ball mount face and the trailer hitch receiver opening. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty, Adjustable Mud Flap System for 2" Hitches # ERT00108.
