Why is Stop Light Switch Needed on 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited with keyless start. How does the stop light kit over ride my jeeps back break lights when the brakes are applied from my patriot brake system with a turn signal on at the same time? From the videos it looks like the RM 88400 kit would do that. Thank you

Expert Reply:
The reason you need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 and not the Brake-Lite Relay #RM-88400 on your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is because on some vehicles, the brake light switch is activated electronically, so there's no way to truly tap into it. The Stop Light Switch Kit will provide that signal in place of the OEM signal, so you will need it with the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR, along with 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332.
Additionally, the other parts you can use to flat tow a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a factory steel bumper are:
- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519339
- Demco Dominator Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511008
- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
I have also added links to video reviews and installation instructions for you to check out.
