Locating the Factory Towing Relays/Harness On a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Question:
2005 Pathfinder tow ready package. You stated that some Pathfinders come with the OEM towing relay and some do not so check the fuse box. The fuse box passenger side has no relay nor does it have a place to plug it in. I looked for an unused plug using the 118266. There are no unused plugs behind the kick panel. Where would I look for the tow relay or should I just check the 2 pin plug for trailer brake voltage and or charging voltage. I assume that those voltages do not come in on my 4 pin flat.

The location of the trailer relays on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder will vary based on if you have a factory tow package or not. If you have the factory tow package then you should have relays or at least a spot for them in the engine bay fuse box. If you don't have the factory tow package then odds are there are no relays nor a place for them to be inserted inside the engine bay fuse box therefore you need a relay harness (T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118266) which installs behind the passenger side kick panel. I have attached a photo of the correct plug not to be confused with the door harness.
If you still can't find the above plug or any of the factory relays then you will need to take your vehicle into the dealer to have them locate it for you.
