Explaining Wiring Connections on Yellow and Brown Wire of Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode

Question:

in the video the guy hooks up the input yellow wire to a but splice with a white wire, thats all good but then he hooks up the yellow wire to the same but splice with the white tail light wire. This now defeats the purpose of having a yellow input and a yellow output wire because they are now shorted to one another in the but splice. He then tell you to do the same with the brown wire for running lights. Are the input and out put wires hooked together inside the diode pack? Is this correct? this is very confusing? Please clarify this for me?

I found the portion of the install video of the # TR118821 that you mentioned and to clarify what he's doing he's splicing in the wiring from the kit to the wiring of the vehicle in a way that allows the vehicle wiring to still function like it needs to and also allow the converter box to get the signal it needs to from the circuits.

So he's cutting the vehicle wiring and putting the vehicle wiring and the converter box wiring in one end of the butt end connector and then the other end of the connector connecting back to the vehicle wiring.
