Which Torklift GlowStep Set Would Work Best on Doorway Height of RV that is 40 inches
Question:
I have a 1997 Holiday rambler 5th wheel that has been modified so the pin height will better line up with a 2020 Silverado 3500. After the mod, flipping the spring mounts to top of the axle, the factory steps were way too short to make it feasible to get in the trailer even with a step stool see first image. The steps were too short before anyway. The distance between the floor in the trailer to the ground is approximately 40. According to the specs this will work. My question is the clearance for all of the hardware and mechanisms required for the TLA8004. The opening when the existing frame is removed is right at 27.5. There is a bezel around the opening and it appears that there is space behind fore and aft that may be available see second image. Will this step work, or are there alternatives that may work better. Thanks

Thanks for the pictures of your steps on your RV. Right now it looks like you have the Lippert Manual Pull Out Steps part # LC432690. So for a similar Torklift GlowStep setup that would match the threshold height you have now of 40 inches you'd be best off with the 5-step part # TLA9105 which has a entry height range of between 34-7/8" to 42-3/8".
