Is the Yakima HangOver 6 Bike Rack RV Approved?
Question:
Hello, Is there a specific reason why it says not approved for Motorhome? I have a 2inch receiver with a max tongue weight of 800lbs on my Class A. Thank you in advance for your guidance.

When using a bike rack on a Motor home we run into the issue of the distance being to great from the rear wheel to the receiver tube opening. Typically this is a lot further distance than that on a passenger vehicle and subjects the rack to a lot more "force" when going over different obstacles. Therefore the options for use on motor homes is limited.
In your situation the Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Tilting part # C18065 and the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 5 Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - Tilting part # HR520 are both solid choices. I like the Road Runner slightly more than the Curt because it's arms are wider which gives more support. If you will be taking along children's bikes however the Curt does taper in at the rear making it easier to use with the smaller frame bikes.
You may need the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar part # Y02531 for any ladies, alternative or really small kids bikes on either choice.
I've included links to these pages and to the videos to give you a good look at them.
