7-Way Wiring Connector for a 2019 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Have a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and plan to buy one of your two recommended trailer hitches. Our Samp trailer has a 7 pin connector. Seems you only sell 4 pin wiring harness. What adapter do I need? Not positive we will add a brake controller but want the option.

Once you have a 4-Way wiring kit installed on your 2019 Toyota RAV4, the T-Connector # C56434, then you can either add the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 for a standard brake controller that mounts in your cab, or the Upgraded Wiring Kit # ETBC7L for a brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 which pairs with your phone so you can make adjustments.
Both of the wiring kit upgrades come with the adapter you need for both 4-Way and 7-Way trailer connectors and the main difference is that the ETBC7 has more wiring and some extra pieces to route the wiring into your cab.
Once you've determined which upgrade kit you want to go with I also recommend using the No-Drill Mount Bracket # 18136 to hang the connector near the etrailer # e23ZR or Curt # C13416 hitch receiver.
To complete a towing setup you also need a ball mount kit. I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
I've also attached some installation videos and instructions that you can reference. Be sure to consult your owner's manual for specifics on how to safely tow a trailer with your RAV4.
