Will The Curve In The Malone Anti-Rattle HitchLock Plate Dig Into The Hitch Receiver
Question:
What is the purpose of the curve on the end of the plate? Shouldnt it be flat so it does not dig into the receiver and scratch or potentially rust it?

The curve in the Malone Anti-Rattle HitchLock System part # MPG908 is designed for extra stability to not allow the shank of the accessory to move up and down. It is what holds the shank of accessory tight. I have attached a photo of how this is supposed to be installed between the hitch collar and the shank of the accessory. The curved portion of the Malone Anti-rattle will not touch the hitch.

Look at the videos reviewing the Hitchlock System. They both show the plate installed in the wrong direction according to the manufacturer's site and common sense. This results in the lock washers and nuts not making proper contact with the plate. This may be the reason some buyers state that the nuts become loose during use. I see you showed the manufacturer's pictures showing the correct orientation of the plates. I have owned these devices in the past and have never had a problem with the nuts loosening .
