Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Harnesses for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline
Question:
I have a 2006 Ridgeline that has the factory harnesses that are required for the wiring of the brake controller and the seven spade rear plug. My problem is that neither of these harnesses have power from the battery and also the turn signal pins are not hot. I checked and there is nothing anywhere

It sounds like your 2006 Honda Ridgeline did not come from the factory with the complete towing package installed. This means that if the vehicle did not come with the 7-Way RV style connector attached and that the wiring was not completed at the factory to provide power from the vehicle battery and for the signals.
You might check the secondary fuse box, slot # 6 to see if a fuse is needed to power the brake controller connection point power wire. I believe you will also need a couple of relays and a control unit that comes with an OEM tow package kit and installs under the dash.
You have two options. First, you could contact the Honda dealer to see if they have a OEM wiring kit that would allow your 12 volt power and turn signals to function properly. If so, the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket, # HM40975, could be used to connect to the seven spade rear plug under the back of your vehicle, if it is not included in the dealer package. If you get the factory connections working correctly, you would then need the Electric Brake Controller Wiring Adapter, # 3070-P, for your 2006 Honda Ridgeline.
The second option is to install a working 4-Way connector, # 118400, and then use the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, to complete the wiring needed to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Voyager, # 39510. We have detailed instructions for installation of the brake controller wiring kit, and a video showing this kit being installed on an Odyssey that should prove helpful even though it is a different vehicle.
When wiring the red wire from the brake controller you will find that the white/black wire at the factory brake controller connection point that you found is the brake light input wire that can be used to splice the red wire from the brake controller to.
