Question:

What do I have to trim on the rear of my 2020 Tesla Model 3 to install this EcoHitch?

On the 2018 models it was true that you had to trim a hole in the lower rear fascia. However for your 2020 Tesla Model 3 to install the # EH84GR It is no longer necessary to trim it because they come with a knock out in that location so that the lower hitch opening can attach to the hitch's main crossbeam.

I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out on a similar 2021 Tesla Model 3.

Hi,I got my Tesla 3 LR in August 2019. It appears that it has a removebale cover underneath bumper. Does this mena I can skip the step of cutting an opening? Also, will trailer hitch fit?

Yes, Tesla started adding that nice factory cutout on some of the 2019 models. Because of this you won't have to trim the fascia and can skip that section in the installation manual. The EcoHitch # 306-X7373 is indeed a confirmed fit.
