Help Finding Square Connector to Install Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness on 2008 Ram

Question:

I did trace it out, no splices or connectors. My guess is the damaged the factory plug and just bought a standard replacement. Do y’all have a 7 pin connector with 7 ft of cable but no connectors?

The square connectors you are looking for on your 2008 Dodge Ram to install the # C56071 are on the harness that runs to the 7-way of your truck. Easiest way to find it is to trace the harness from the back of the 7-way to the front of the truck. You'll encounter the square connector pretty easily from there.

If you fast forward to the 1:40 mark of the attached video link You'll see exactly where to find it as well.

Not sure where the attached video is? If it is the one down below, it is for an 06 with the connector on the 7 pin in the bumper. My 7 pin in the bumper does not have a connector on it.

The video I referenced is the one you found below. It is possible your truck had an aftermarket 7-way installed on it which doesn't have the standard square connector. If instead you had a round connector that went to the rear of the 7-way you'd need an adapter like the part # 20110 instead. Either way though send me a picture of the rear of you 7-way and I'll see if I can determine what you have for sure and we can go from there.

We do have a solution then with the 5th Wheel / Gooseneck Wiring Harness with 7-Way Plug # A10-7007. You'd need to remove the round connectors and then run the wiring directly to the 7-way wiring you have. Or I think your best option would be to replace your current 7-way with the part # 20023 that would wire in place of what you have but since it has the same round connectors as the # A10-7007 you'd be able to easily install the 7-way adapter as well.
