Over the Truck Bed Kayak Carrier Compatible with BAKFlip MX4 for 2018 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2018 F150 with the 5.5 ft bed. I’ve also installed a BackFlip BX4 hard cover. Now I want to install a rack to carry two kayaks. What’s my options?

I have a solution for you, but because the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK48329 is a folding hard tonneau cover, you don't really have options as much as a single solution. The only ladder rack that we have confirmed for use with the MX4 is the Adarac Pro Series # A4000955 that you were looking at, since the uprights on the Adarac are not tilted inwards like they are on many other ladder racks. The Adarac Pro Series has a 500-lbs capacity and will allow you to carry your kayaks on the crossbars of the rack.
To add a layer of protection between the kayaks and the bars I recommend using the Malone Rack Pads for Crossbars # MPG314. Because of the dimensions of the crossbars on the Adarac Pro Series, J style kayak carriers like the etrailer # e98878, are going to have a tough time fitting on the bars securely- so I recommend going with the padded carrier route. I've also linked our selection of watersport carrier pads similar to the Malone pads mentioned above, that you can have a look at as well.
