Measurement From Center of B&W Companion Head to Edge of Hitch Closest to Cab
Question:
I have a 2005 ram 2500 short bed. I was wondering what the length from the pin in the forward position to the front of the hitch toward the cab would be? I have a toolbox and was wondering if i could fit the companion without removing the toolbox.

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider # BWRVK3400-5W measures 15 inches from the center (where the pin is) to the front of the hitch closes to the cab. To install this hitch in your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 you would need the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1313-5W.
The other thing to keep in mind with regards to your tool box is that you really do want it to sit underneath your bed rails in order to ensure your trailer avoids contact with it.
I have added a link to video reviews, including an install of the underbed kit (which doubles as a gooseneck hitch) on a 2005 Dodge Ram. Additionally, if you need 5th Wheel wiring on your truck the correct part is the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug - Dodge # HM42137.
