5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Mounting Slot Dimensions for Valley Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter Plate
Question:
I want to use this to place bed rails in my 06 Dodge 3500 dually, currently with a B and W turn-over ball companion hitch. The Valley V70881 appears to have only one set of mounting slots/pin holes to secure the hitch. I want to use a Hensley TS3 air hitch, and need to find the width dimension of the mounting slots/pins, to verify that the hitch will fit. The Valley adapter looks more suitable than the Curt, because the square pin is adjustable for the correct height. Thank you.

The slots on the Valley Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter Plate, # V70881, measure approximately 20-1/2 inches apart on center from side to side. Front to back on center they are approximately 22 inches apart. This adapter plate has been discontinued since Valley went out of business, but I recommend looking at the Curt X5 Adapter Plate, # 16310. This adapter also works with the B&W gooseneck hitches and it will accommodate a Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch or Reese hitch rated for 15K, 16K, or 18K, or a Curt hitch rated for 16K. The Valley adapter and the Curt adapter have not been tested with a Hensley hitch.
