Where Can I Mount Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller And Is There A Better Option
Question:
I don’t understand if the control box is mounted properly forward why it won’t work in the box. It works on inertia so why it won’t work.

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # 90250 must be mounted with 5 degrees of level on a horizontal plane lined up with towards the tow vehicle for the internal sensor to work properly. The sensor will not function if the Prodigy RF is mounted to the tow vehicle. I have attached a diagram that shows possible mounting locations of the Prodigy.
If you are not able to find a proper mounting spot you may consider a Curt Echo brake controller part # C51180 which plugs in line with the 7-Way plug. As long as your 7-Way plug has an active 12V power circuit the Curt Echo will operate and override an factory brake controller in the vehicle too if that is what you have. It does not require any installation besides plug it in and go. The brake settings can be controlled via a smart phone. Appe IOS 8.0 - newer or Android: 4.4 operating system - newer. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
