Question:

Do I have to drill any holes in my truck frame to use this item? I have a 2006 Ford F-250 super duty 4x4 diesel.

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty part # AL88291 does not require drilling into the truck frame for installation. However the kit that comes with this part number is designed to work only trucks with B&W Fifth wheel under bed kits 1105 or 1199R. If you do have the 1199R the upper B&W bracket will need to be ground down a bit to install the air bags. The only drilling that will need to be done during installation are 5/16" holes for the inflation valves. Those can be drilled into the wheel well flanges, license plate recess in bumper or through the license plate.

If you have another under bed fifth wheel or goose neck kit I recommend to use the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle part # F2400 on the 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty instead. The Firestone bags are compatible with the brackets of a under bed kit for fifth wheel without drilling or filing the brackets. The Firestone air bags are also constructed of 4-layers of reinforced rubber compared to the Air Lift's 2 layers. They are also designed with a crimp rolled seal instead of a metal band to keep the bags attached to the roll plate. I have attached an installation video for your reference.

I recommend to add the Firestone Air Command II part # F2219 compressor system so that you don't have to stop at a gas station to fill up the bags or carry around a compressor with you. The Air Command is also dual path so you can inflate/deflate the sides of your bed individually to level out the payload if you need to. This compressor works with both air bag kits.
