Difference Between Curt A25 C16046 and Q25 C16049 - 2019 Ram 2500 Long Bed w/ Factory Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2019 Ram 3500 long bed with the tow prep package and I'm interested in either the Curt A25 or the Q25, can you tell me the difference between the two? Thank you!

The primary difference between the Curt # C16049 Q25 and the # C16046 A25 is the way the hitch head pivots and the way the hitch jaws are constructed and how they grip the king pin.
The Q25 # C16049 uses a spherical axial bearing that allows the hitch to have a 360 degree pivot and a double jaw hinge. The way the head pivots makes it a little easier to hook up the fifth wheel on terrain that isn't perfectly flat, but the pivot means that the hitch isn't compatible with rotating pin boxes like the Reese Revolution or Sidewinder. The double jaw does a pretty good job of holding the king pin tightly, in a good, better, best scenario, I'd call it good.
The A25 # C16046 head uses a torsion system that self aligns and helps reduce shock and noise. The A25 use a different, dual split jaw system that simultaneously grips the king pin from all directions, which leads to superior ride quality.
All things considered, If I personally had to choose between the two, I'd go with the A25 because of the improved articulation system the hitch head uses and the upgraded jaw system.
