Do I Need To Install a King Pin After Removing Gooseneck Adapter from 5th Wheel Pin Box

Question:

Hi! I am looking for a king pin to replace the gooseneck conversion on a second hand fifth wheel I just purchased. I see that there are several different options and cant figure out which one I should buy. My fifth wheel is 32 feet long and has a gvwr of 11800 lbs. Im using the BandW turnover ball fifth wheel hitch on my 97 F350 powerstroke dually. Can you advise me? Thanks!

I would love to sell you a king pin but once you remove the gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter you have now, there will more than likely already be a kin pin installed underneath unless it was cut off which I doubt was the case. Please remove the adapter and let me know what you find. If you want to replace the entire king pin box please just let me know as we have options for that as well but we would need to know the pin box model number beforehand.

In order to get the truck setup for the 5th wheel trailer, you can use the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3500 which simply drops into place.
