Troubleshooting Bike Mount Issues on the Kuat Beta Bike Rack on a 2011 Lexus CT 200h
Question:
I have been using the Kuat Beta that I ordered from you for a few months now. But I have a new 29inch mountain bike with a small frame. [What can I say. Im short.] I have a really hard time getting the top tube to fit over the mounts on the bike rack. I have to slide the left mount at an angle to get it to fit into the angle of the top tube and the down tube. Then the cradle surface is no longer flat and the bike rests on a little point. I just got back from a one-hour drive with the bike and it had slid so that the bike wasnt really on the support anymore and was just hanging by the rubber fastener. Scary! Your advice would be most welcome.

I think I have a solution to your problem. I would recommend you use a bike adapter bar like the Thule Bike Adapter Bar for Womens and Alternative Bike Frames, part # TH982XT.
A bike adapter bar is specifically designed to help you carry bikes that have odd or smaller shaped frames safely on a bike rack. The adapter bar will attach to your bikes seat post and the handle bar post.
I have attached a video showing how this adapter bar works for you to check out.
