I recommend the Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180 which will plug inline with the 7-way plug on your truck and only requires an active 12V circuit on the plug. It only requires the 12V circuit because of it's internal sensor that senses when the Acadia is braking and activates the trailer brakes. The brake controller settings can be controlled via a smart phone device Apple 8.0-newer or Android 4.4-newer. The Curt Echo is the simplest brake controller option available.
