You are correct in your assessment, unfortunately. The issue you're experiencing right now is that the # BWRVK3400-5W is designed to fit in the gooseneck connection that comes with the B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1208 that you have on your 2010 Nissan Titan. The Turnoverball is going to be a different size and shape than the gooseneck connection that came on your 2016 Ford F350 OEM 5th wheel package. Because of this, you will need to change the base over to one that is compatible with your 2016 Ford F350's OEM 5th Wheel package.
The correct part you're going to need is the Replacement Slider Base for B&W OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Ford Towing Prep Package # BWRVB3370 which will replace the base on your existing Companion hitch with one that is compatible with your Ford and will install in the factory pucks.
