Is Additional Relay Needed When Installing Curt T-Connector Trailer Harness on 2014 Acura MDX
Question:
In the Q and A you say: If your 2014 Acura MDX did not come with the factory tow package then you would likely need to get the relay from an Acura dealer to install trailer wiring harness # C56192. It is possible though that an auto parts store would have an aftermarket relay. You can check your vehicle owners manual for the relay location to see if it is present on your model. I just ordered this wiring harness and I dont have a tow package. I dont see any reference in my manual about a relay for the tow package. Do you know where I should be looking for this? I see the fuse locations for Trailer Charge, Trailer Back Light, Trailer Hazard, and Trailer E Brake in the rear fuse box, but I dont see any reference to a relay.

Even if your 2014 Acura MDX doesn't have the factory tow package, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56192 and the fuses that come included should be all that you need to provide the Acura with a fully-functional 4-Way connector to power the trailer's signal lights. This is going to plug right into the vehicle's junction box behind the driver's-side tail light and the included fuses will be inserted into the correct slots as indicated in the instructions.
I believe at one point it was thought that an additional relay might be needed for certain models but this should not be the case for your 2014 Acura MDX.
I have attached a full installation video that you can follow along with.
