Weight Distribution System Recommendation For Trailer With 750 Lb Tongue Weight
Question:
Looking at the Fastway e2. My tongue weight is 680 dry. I expect that it may end up near 750. The RV weight will be no greater than 7500. Is the 800 lb e2 hitch the correct size?

Ideally when choosing a weight distribution system you want your loaded tongue weight to fall in the middle of the range that the spring bars of the weight distribution system are rated for so the 800 Lb Fastway E2 part # FA92-00-0800 is not the ideal choice.
If your loaded tongue weight will be 750 or more I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-1000 because the spring bars are rated for tongue weights between 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. A range which both the loaded and unloaded tongue weight of your trailer falls into.
The Fastway e2 is one of our most popular weight distribution systems because of it's steel on steel friction brackets that helps to eliminate trailer sway especially on the highway when a big truck passes. The brackets fit more rigidly compared to weight distribution systems with the lift chains so they do a better job at keeping the trailer in line. This system comes with the shank but you will need a thin walled socket for installation part # EQ70-00-4800 and a 2" hitch ball with 1-1/4" diameter shank part # A-90 or part # EQ91-00-6100 if you need a 2-5/16" ball.
