Recommended Gooseneck Hitch for Occasional Towing with 2005 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
Im working on an 05 dodge 2500 short bed, needing to install a gooseneck hitch. Do you feel the bandw is worth the extra $120 + - and if so why. We think this pick up will not be pulling a trailer as often as our others but the ball will be turned over often. Thanks

Whether or not the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1313 for the 2005 Ram 2500 you're working on is worth the higher cost is in large part dependent on application. The Turnoverball is an excellent, durable, and reliable gooseneck hitch, but a decent part of its appeal is its compatibility with the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400, which is one of the nicest 5th wheel hitches on the market and is designed to drop right into the square gooseneck ball hole that the Turnoverball provides.
Now if your customer doesn't ever foresee towing a 5th wheel trailer down the line, I honestly think he would be just as happy with the Curt Double Lock # C607-661 (which will also be easier on the wallet). Like the Turnoverball, this Curt hitch still features a chrome-plated hitch ball that can flip and store upside down when it's not in use, maintaining a clean bed when the truck isn't towing a trailer. It has the same 30,000 pound towing weight capacity and the included brackets are custom-designed for the Ram's frame rails so you won't have to drill into them during installation.
I have attached a short video review below on a later model Ram that you can also check out, along with the complete written installation manual
