Will the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback Fit a 2019
Question:
Both your site and the Draw-tite site confirm that this hitch fits the 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback, however, after inspecting my vehicle I am not sure how this hitch will mount to the frame. It relies on the side bolts to screw into the weld nuts on the inside of the frame. My frame has the tape covered holes but does not have the weld nut on the inside of the frame. Is there an alternate installation method? Perhaps with a second set of carriage bolts?

The correct trailer for a 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback is the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24982, not the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24914 which is for a 2014 - 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback. I have attached a photo for you of the new generation receiver which as you can uses different attachment points on the bottom of the frame. The previous generation receiver used attachment points on the bottom of the frame rail and then another on the side of the frame rail. The new generation still has the hole on the side of the frame but as you mentioned this hole does not have a weld nut which is why it is no longer used to secure the receiver.
Unfortunately, there would be no way to use the previous generations receiver on the new generation even by adding carriage bolts.
