Will the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch and Kuat Transfer 3 Bike Rack Combination Work on my 2019 Nissan Leaf

Question:

Is it possible to the Kuat Hitch Bike Racks - TS03G with EcoHith part # 306-X7221? You mention that is rated for 300 pounds tongue weight at the trailer ball and the company installation guide mentioned 200 pounds, which is good ?

To answer your questions in order:

1)Yes, you will be able to use the Kuat Transfer 3 with the 2" hitch receiver on the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch # 306-X7221 . The Transfer 3 is a great choice for carbon frame bikes because of the ratcheting wheel mounts that make zero contact with your bike frame.

2) The discrepancy on the tongue weight of the hitch is likely down to a weight capacity upgrade made by EcoHitch after the hitch was released-rarely are the instructions updated. I checked with EcoHitch and they were able to confirm that the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch # 306-X7221 for the 2019 Nissan Leaf has a tongue weight capacity of 300-lbs, as opposed to the 200-lbs stated in the instructions.

Since the Kuat Transfer 3 does not come with bike locks, but has the ability to add cable locks to the setup, I recommend adding the Cable Locks and Hitch Lock for Kuat T3 Bike Rack # PTSCLK13 . The cable locks in this set clip into the tubes on the T3 wheel mounts and allow you to keep your bikes securely attached to the rack when unattended and the included hitch lock mounts to your existing hitch pin to give you peace of mind that nobody can walk off with your rack.
