The Brake EVN # TK63VR is a really great brake controller similar to the P3 in a lot of ways that has a much better price. It's made by same company as the P3 and uses a similar style of inertia sensor for a proportional application of the trailer's brakes. To install it in your 2014 Ram 1500 only requires the install harness part # 3023-P.
The reason the Brake EVN is able to cost less than the P3 part # 90195 is it doesn't have as advanced of a display setup. The P3 uses full words that makes it super easy to know what's going one whereas the I-command has a display that shows two digit codes. Also the Brake EVN has a more limited range it the direction it has to face. The P3 has to face the back of the vehicle squarely and also be level side to side but can rotate all the way around as needed. The Brake EVN's mounting angle has to be between -20 degrees and 70 degrees in the vertical plane.
