The Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector part # AT36681 will be an excellent replacement for the ProTECHtor LP Gas Detector. The Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector has a seven year life span which is pretty standard. The ProTECHtor LP Gas Detector has a two wire hookup (power/ground) and the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector has a three wire hookup (power 1/power 2/ground). The reason for the three wire hookup is that the power 2 wire will act as a fail safe if there was an issues with the power 1 wire but this is not required so you could just connect black to black and then red to either power 1 red or power 2 red.
