Which Way To Turn Cross Bar Screw When Installing Bestop TrekStep On 2019 Ram 3500
Question:
in step 13 - secure cross bar . tighten screw to frame then tighten both nuts one each side of cross bar . then loosen both nuts . then rotate the screw 1/4 inch for correct pressure on mount . My question is which way to rotate the screw . is this to further against the frame tighten further or does it mean to loosen or tighten screw further and then retighten nuts?? or tighten further screw 1/4inch and then tighten the nuts ? if loosen then there would be a gap of 1/4inch and therefore the mount would then flex to go against the frame?

In regards to the Bestop TrekStep Side Mounted Truck Step part # B7540715, the screw in step 13 will need to be turned another 1/4" to put more pressure on the cross bar, not less pressure. Therefore, you would need to loosen the screw as that would then would push up more against the frame.
