Will Installing Track Roof Rack System on A.R.E. Topper Void Warranty

Question:

I have a 2017 Ford F150 XLT 4WD Supercrew. In your forum reply you said you could recommend a Roof Rack system for the truck instead of the topper.

Installing a track system roof rack like the Yakima parts # Y01126, # Y00221, # Y8890027, and # Y00410 won't void the warranty for your pickup but from what I could find it looks like modifying your A.R.E. topper will void that warranty. Since we aren't an A.R.E. dealer I can't really confirm this, but from my research it is very likely that your warranty will be void. So you can have the track system professionally installed but that would be your choice whether you want to pursue this or not.

If you'd like to add a roof rack to your F-150 instead just let me know what year it is and I can make a recommendation for you. This won't void the warranty for your truck and will allow you to utilize a roof rack like that you're wanting to do.

Thank you for the info! For a roof rack that uses the Yakima round crossbars you need the 58" Bars # Y00409, Baseline Towers # Y00146, RoundBar Adapter # Y03536, and Fit Kit # Y06122. To add end caps to the round bars you need part # Y8007026. I personally prefer the new Yakima HD bars because they look more rugged, they provide some more stability for accessories since there is more real-estate, and they have the t-slots which are becoming more and more popular. For this setup you need the 60" HD Bars # Y01157, BaseLine Towers # Y28TR, HD Bar Adapter # Y03541, and Fit Kit # Y06122. These roof racks don't have the ability to slide on a rail system but they do have a 165 lb weight capacity and they keep you protected under the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for your F-150. The Act states that if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever modifications you have added to your vehicle actually caused the problem in question.  I have attached a link to our selection of roof racks for your SuperCrew Cab that you can filter through as well.
