The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 is very popular among our customers for the very reason you stated; it's easy to install. It's also compatible with your mobile phone so there's no cab or trailer wiring installation. I've included a great video overview for more details. This is by far the simplest to install and operate of our available brake controllers.
If you have the factory 4-way flat connector, an additional part # 37185 is needed. An additional length of wire may be necessary to connect the 7-Way socket of part 37185 to the vehicle's tow package wires which are along the rear frame rail. I've included an installation video to help here as well.
