Parts Recommended-Flat Towing 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
What do I need to dinghy tow my 2020 Wrangler JL Unlimited. My Jeep is stock, straight from the showroom. I'm planning on keeping this vehicle for a number of years, so I want to do it right.

To tow your Jeep, you'll need a tow bar, base plates, safety cables, a wiring solution, a supplemental braking system, possibly a high/low adapter and maybe another few odds and ends.
Starting with the base plates and tow bar, I'd recommend going with Roadmaster products. They are well engineered, high quality, reliable and very easy to use. For base plates, go with # RM-521453-5. These will work with either the steel or the plastic clad bumper. For a tow bar, I'd recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2, part # RM-520. The Falcon 2 is self-aligning, which makes hook-up much easier, you don't have to be perfectly centered behind the motorhome to connect everything. For safety cables, use # RM-643.
For a wiring kit, go with the # RM-15267 Diode kit. Once installed, simply plug the umbilical in and you're done.
For an install and forget it braking system option, I really like the Roadmaster Invisibrake, part # RM-8700. Portable braking systems don't require much in the way of installation, but since you'll be keeping the vehicle for awhile I feel a permanently installed system is your best option. A brake switch kit, part # RM-751490 would also be needed.
When the base plates I recommended are installed, They will be about 16-1/4 inches off the ground (assuming you're using the stock tire size). If the receiver height of your motorhome is within 3 inches +/- of this, you won't need a high/low adapter. Otherwise, you'll need one to place the heights within 3 inches of each other. I'll link to our selection of adapters.
I've linked to help articles and an install video.
