Comparing Four and Single Point Under-Bed 5th Wheel Hitch Systems for a 2019 Chevy Silverado HD
Question:
How do the 5th wheel mounts that fit in the gooseneck ball pocket hold up compared to the 4 point leg mount? Are they as stable? My truck doesn’t have the factory prep mounts.

I have never personally heard of any longevity/durability issues associated with the single connection vs multiple connection point style fifth wheel hitches so I would not really let this be a deciding factor when making my pick. I recommend the multiple connection point style fifth wheel hitches over the single connection point style fifth wheel hitches due to the simple fact that you just have more options with the multiple connection point style fifth wheel hitches.
In order to obtain the under-bed multiple connection point style system you will need to use the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite part # RP30868 which is a confirmed fit for a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. I know this may sound odd but this will actually give you the same pucks as a Ford would have therefore I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3305 or part # BWRVK3370 which simply put is the best option on the market due to the jaw design for smooth towing and handle operation for ease of use.
The Chevy under-bed pucks cannot be obtained after the fact so the Ford under-bed pucks is your only option for a multiple connection point style fifth wheel hitch.
