Why Isnt Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Adapter Recommended for Ford Factory Tow Package
Question:
why is this item not recommended for ford factory tow package?
asked by: Debra J
Expert Reply:
The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset # CAB-C5GX1216, along with the standard adapter # CAB-C5G, are not recommended for the Ford factory tow package because the Ford gooseneck hitch ball has a plastic tab on the top like what you find with the Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit # RP30137.
You can use this adapter if you swap out your hitch ball to one that doesn't use the plastic tab like what you find with the Curt # C60692 or the B&W # BWGNXA2061 for your 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty. I recommend the B&W option because it uses a handle to secure the hitch ball plus the safety chain connections are easier to utilize if you want to swap out what came with your OEM system.
