I reached out to my contact at Progressive Dynamics and he said the 60 amp # PD9160A Converter will work just fine to replace your existing PD9155. The slight increase in amperage isn't an issue at all and there aren't any safety concerns.

This is going to provide you with a higher 60 amp output, so if a fuse on your current unit is being blown from being overdrawn, or it's simply an internal issue on an old converter, the replacement will work perfectly and will resolve this problem.

Otherwise my contact said that you may want to check the connection of the fuses (I believe there are 3) inside your existing converter. This is especially true if only 1 of the fuses is blowing each time. Make sure that all three fuses are securely seated and are making good contact. Since all three fuses need to work together, if one fuse isn't making good contact at the connection point, it's going to put an overload on the other fuses which leads to one of them blowing.
