Rear Wheels Will Not Free After Placing 2017 Jeep Cherokee FWD On Tow Dolly

Question:

I read your expert answer to towing front wheel drive but after I got my front wheels up on the tow dolly and secured them my rear wheels would not move. I have a 2017 Jeep Latitude. Why won’t it move?

I have attached for you below the procedure to tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee FWD using a tow dolly such as the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly part # DM9713045.

1. Properly secure the dolly to the tow vehicle, following the dolly manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Drive the front wheels onto the tow dolly.
3. Apply the parking brake. Place transmission in PARK. Turn the engine OFF.
4. Properly secure the front wheels to the dolly, following the dolly manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Turn the ignition to the ON/RUN mode, but do not start the engine.
6. Press and hold the brake pedal.
7. Release the parking brake.
8. Turn the ignition OFF, remove the key fob, and release the brake pedal.

If you have followed all of the steps above then make sure you have the "Auto Park Brake" feature disabled via the Uconnect settings.
