How To Move Tires To the Outside Of a Pop-Up Camper Trailer
Question:
I have a old pop up camper base that is 81wide frame. I am wanting to move the wheels to the outside of the frame and flip the axle to gain more ground clearance. What size hub to hub should use

If you were to install a trailer axle that measures 89" from hub face to hub face that would then give you 4" of clearance on each side of the trailer which should be plenty so long as you choose an appropriate size tire no more than 6-7" wide i'd say. I have exactly what you need for this, Trailer Axle part # e43SR which comes with electric brakes or part # 35545I-EZ-89 which comes with idler hubs. The leaf spring seats are welded to the underside of the axle but you can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 to flip them. That said, you will most likely need to move and re-weld the leaf spring seats anyhow.
I have attached our wheel/tire selection for you as well.
