Parts Needed to Install a Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller on 2003 Chevy Trailblazer

Question:

I am considering purchasing an Agility trailer brake. I have a 2003 Chev Trailblazer LT that is factory pre wired for a trailer brake. The owners manual states that there are wires located behind the instrument panel for the brake control. Is an adapter available for this vehicle and if so would it make it easier to install the Agility controller? The less time I spend on my back on the floor the better.

On a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer equipped with a factory 7-Way, all you will need is the brake controller you have chosen, # HM47295. No other wiring harness is needed. The tow package wires are tucked up underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, above the area between the brake pedal and emergency brake. The wire bundle will be held together with a white tag and possibly taped to another harness.

The wire colors will not match color for color with the brake controller wiring but the tag should show the functions of the wires on them.

On the brake controller, the white wire is ground, the black wire is power to the brake controller, the blue wire is output to the trailer brakes and the red wire is the input from the brake switch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the brake controller for you.

To see instructions for the Agility Brake Controller or an install video, click the supplied links. The video shows a controller being installed on a 2004 GMC Envoy. The procedure would be identical on your Trailblazer.
