Recommended Trailer Tires for Triple Axle Gooseneck Trailer

Question:

I have a tri-axle gooseneck trailer I recently purchased and it needs all new tires, currently it is running 245/75R16 tires. I also believe these are not the correct tires for the trailer. I’m guessing the previous owner took whatever tire they had lying around that fit and put those on. I’m looking for the best suited durable heavy duty trailer tire I can get on the 16” rims. I’m not sure what size I should go with?

I recommend using the Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range G
Item # TTWPRG235R16 (4,400 lbs at 110 psi) is enough for your trailer (with 6 tires that gives you a total weight rating of 26,400 lbs). The Taskmaster Provider Line is a quality tire. This tire is very durable and gives you great performance and the 81 mph speed rating.

Please note that the max weight rating of your gooseneck trailer is limited to your least rated component so if your trailer is rated for less than the total weight rating of these tires you cannot exceed the lower of the 2 ratings. It is also important to ensure that you have about 4" of height clearance (to account for the suspension flex) as well as 2" between the tires and trailer frame and 2" of space between each tire for proper clearance.

The Provider tire has an overall diameter of 31.73" and a section width of 9.25".
