O.L Error Code On Prodigy 2 Brake Controller
Question:
Im getting the above error code when Im driving up and down hills. When I start the truck everything s works great, about 1 or 2 miles down the road I get the code. Tried buying a new unit but I get the same results. What could the issue be? 2014 Ram 1500 4x2 Towing a 28 foot 6900 lbs Travel Trailer.

The overload "o.L" code you are seeing on the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 refers to a short in the wiring. It sounds like you have a short on the blue brake output wire that runs from the brake controller to the 7-way trailer connector and then from the 7-way trailer connector to the braking assemblies. In order to fix this you are going to need to trace the blue brake output wire from the controller all the way back to the 7-way trailer connector and then to the braking assemblies while checking for breaks or frays in the line.
If you cannot find the brake or fray in the line then it may just be best for you to run a new wire using part # 10-1-1. You will also want to check the pins inside each of the trailer connectors for corrosion. The corrosion could be causing the signal to jump circuits. Once you clean the pins off you will want to use some of part # 11755 before mating them back together. If this does not fix your problem please let me know and I would be happy to offer additional troubleshooting advice for you.
