Solutions for Creating Brighter Interior with Existing Gustafson Dome Lights

Question:

Dear etrailer... I have a 2014 Itasca motorhome with Gusafson dome lights throughout the coach. They all use the GSB7038 LED bulb. I would like to increase the lighting in a few areas - especially in the bathroom. I dont know what the lumens are for the GSB7038 but I have seen other LED bulbs with ratings in the 600+ lumens range, and wondered if there are other bulbs I could use in my existing dome lights that would work and give me much more needed light? Ive included a picture of an LED bulb I have seen online and wondered if something like this would work in my dome light?

Most of the Gustafson Lighting assemblies that we have available that have replaceable bulbs do use the LED # 291-GSB7038 that you referenced. You won't be able to replace this with a different bulb type as the plug-in/fitting won't install correctly.

If you want to add more light to your living areas then your best option will be to either add some additional assemblies, even something like a couple small puck lights like # 277-000343 will make a big difference, or replace what you currently have with a stronger/brighter unit.

I'm not quite sure what style of lights you currently have installed in your motorhome but one of our brightest assemblies we have available is the Opti-Brite LED Dome Light # ILL08COB, which has an effective lumen output of 990. I have attached a short video review on this light along with a link that will take you to our complete selection.
