Roof Top Kayak Carrier Solution that Has Felt Pads on Rear Assemblies
Question:
I need to attach felt pads to rear of Thule DockGrip. What would you recommend? I can’t lift my kayak on the side of my car.

Expert Reply:
We don't have a solution for attaching felt to the Thule DockGrip part # TH895 that you mentioned but we do have similar carriers that have felt on the pads like the # RR571 from Rhino Rack that is designed to clamp around crossbars or the part # RR581 which is designed to fit into a crossbar's top channel if present.
The rear pads of these carriers are felt to help make sliding the boats on easier and the front pads are rubber to help keep the kayaks in place. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.
