It sounds like you are having issues with the tail light circuits on your towed vehicle. If that is the case then I will need to know exactly what components you are using in order to offer specific advice but I can tell you that although the same bulb may be used for normal operation and flat-tow operation, they are not powered by the same source so it could very well be that the turn signals work normally but not when attached to the motorhome. I again will need to know exactly what components you are using but I suspect there is an issue with the diode and or wire that is leading from the trailer connector on the front of the towed vehicle back to the tail lights.
I have attached a generic diagram of a diode system that may better help you narrow down your issue. Please note, there is a plug and play kit available for a 2014 Honda CR-V, the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # HM56304 which could eliminate some of your headache as well because you won't have to mess with separate diodes which is what I think you have now.
