Does Kat's Heater for 2016 Chevy Equinox have Thermostat
Question:
GM requires engine heaters with thermostats to prevent error codes if the heaters are operated above a certain temperature. The first image for the KH11811 appears to show a bulge in the cord which I believe is a thermostat. I purchased two KH11811 heaters believing they would be correct for my 2016 3.6 in my Equinox and for my 2017 3.6 for my Colorado. I do not see a thermostat on the cords. Do the heating elements themselves contain a thermostat? In regards to someone elses question about coating the heater, Kats instructions do not mention anything regarding this but their website does instruct us to use NSCG silicone grease G-624inch which makes sense. I am concerned about the thermostat as I do not want to generate error codes with cold sub zero temperatures.

We've spoken with Kat's before about the # KH11811 you have and they told us that this does have a thermostat built into it and that it won't operate unless the coolant dips below 0 degrees. Kat's has also confirmed that this temperature range is compatible with your 2016 Chevy Equinox as well.
