The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56225 fits 2017 Nissan Frontier without a factory tow package. It is a plug and play 4-way connector wiring harness, but it does come with relay harness that needs to be plugged into passenger's side kick panel plug to activate the towing functions in the Frontier. It is a very simple install; I have attached an installation video for your reference.

Since you are planning on towing, I recommend etrailer.com ball mount kit part # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
