Can Bulldog Winch BDW15019 Be Used on Boat Trailer

Question:

I’m just wondering if there is a reason people don’t use regular winches like you’d see on the front of a Jeep as a winch for a boat trailer. I currently have a powerwinch RC30 but the housing broke and the electronics are located inside the broken area. I was looking at the Fulton XLT 7000lb but there are some concerning reviews. I’m finding that most winches in that style that are for boat trailers have mixed reviews. Not sure of the bolt pattern but even if I had to fabricate the plate, is there a reason I don’t see more winches like the bulldog used on boat trailers?

You could use the Bulldog Winch part # BDW15019 that you referenced on a boat trailer. Bulldog Winch has told us that this specific winch will fit on the standard mounts for boat trailer and also will work great for this application. I think a lot of people shy away from boat trailers having electric winches due to the proximity to water, but this winch would work great and has a 4,400 lb capacity as well.

I attached a review video for this winch for you to check out as well.
